Assistant Store Manager

I help manage a store team of approximately 15 part-time and full-time store associates. I recruit, train, develop, and retain qualified associates to ensure staffing needs are consistently met.  I provide associates with the tools necessary to ensure customer satisfaction and to also provide resolutions to challenges and complaints.  Included in this is writing an effective weekly work schedule for the store as a whole.  My primary responsibilities include driving and maximizing store sales, minimizing shrink and maintaining payroll within budgetary guidance.  I also carry out company directives for product placement/display and markdowns/sales.

Independent Contractor

As an employee, I worked in various departments throughout the company, within all brands; Pepper Plus,  Christmas Central, Dave's Christmas Wonderland, Pool Central, Window Wonder, and Northlight.

As a sales manager, I directed many aspects of the Christmas Central e-commerce division.  I am a highly motivated individual, creative and communicate persuasively; all which was geared towards increasing sales.  I hired, trained and motivated new representatives to help ensure their success.  

In addition to my specific titles, I assisted in many other departments including marketing, photography, copy writing, customer service and various warehouse projects.  

In 2014, I transferred into our creative department.  I worked one on one with our lead designer in creating prototypes/models for future product. It was also my responsibility to prepare/process documents for new commercial patents/licenses. I prepared meeting notes/reports for weekly presentations with the owner as well as kept open communication with our manufacturers in China.

Since 2015, I worked remotely from my home on a variety of tasks.  My primary responsibility was Sales/ Customer Service via email and copy writing for our websites. However, several times through out the year I traveled to Atlanta to design, set up and break down new showrooms for our wholesale division, Northlight.  I was also a member of the Northlight sales team, acquiring and maintaining new client relationships while on location.

I traveled all over sharing passion, laughter and most especially my Art;  Henna, Face & Body Paint, Glitter & Temporary Tattoos.  Our award winning art was recognized for being affordable, customized and fully insured.  I worked various events ranging from family to community, corporate to festival - no job was too big or too small.  I worked with only high quality art supplies that were FDA approved.

In addition to my number one duty (personalized customer service), I also performed a variety of other daily tasks, such as; opening/closing the store, setting and meeting sales goals, receiving orders/stock, ensuring freshness, recognizing areas of opportunity, celebrating accomplishments, training/coaching, and overall keeping the atmosphere fun, funky, and welcoming! Merchandise Replenishment/ Utility Task Associate

My primary duty was to stock inventory on the sales floor so that sales representatives and customers could access the product. Behind the scenes, I unpacked incoming deliveries, assisted with inventory calculations, organized and located merchandise in stock rooms. In addition, I also performed Ad-Set (full store signage) and completed new merchandise layouts. I generally worked an overnight shift with a staff of approximately five.

I also worked for Kmart in Sayre, PA to assist with community relief efforts due to flooding.

Through Artful Body, I painted at several Kmart locations for a number of special events.

Fun Zone offered roller skating, a dance club, laser tag, a bounce house, arcade games, and a full snack bar.  My responsibilities were to be sure everyone was having a good time and remained safe!  This also included hosting birthday/private parties, as well as various housekeeping duties.  In addition, I also performed other side projects and assisted with any advertising/marketing business needs.

Customer Care Manager

While in this position, I performed a number of leadership and operational duties. This included, but were not limited to, coordinating deliveries, partnering with backroom supervisors and store managers, scheduling associate shifts, and providing on the job training for representatives and supervisors. I supervised approximately 10 associates in this position.  Customer care and general office responsibilities were also exercised. On a daily basis, my tasks included entering orders in the GERS computer system, accepting and processing payments from our customers, answering inbound calls for the showroom, and handling a variety of customer issues.

Center Isle Cashier

While in this position, I partnered with other associates to provide superior customer service. This included locating merchandise, assisting customers, answering phones, ringing register, etc. My primary functions as a cashier were to process customer transactions to completion (sales, returns, exchanges) and to fully optimize credit, gift card and other miscellaneous income opportunities. I assisted with questions on how to navigate the in-store kiosks and also kept sales floor/cash out areas clean of stock and garbage/debris. As an employee of Sears, it was also important to maintain up-to-date knowledge of merchandise lines, as Service is a large selling point for the company.

This program was designed to provide the knowledge, understanding, and appreciation for statutory, procedural, and constitutional law. While studying towards this degree, I was enrolled in criminal law, laws of evidence, family court, issues in constitutional law, juvenile justice, current practices in corrections, and criminology courses, to name a few.

Regents Diploma:  Earned appropriate credits in a number of specific subjects by passing year-long courses, in addition to the four years I attended this high school. 

Gemini Credits:  Earned credits as a result of passing several college courses. As a senior at Williamson High School, I was also a part time Finger lakes Community College student. Upon high school graduation, I was able to transfer these credits to my first year of college as a full time student.

French Language

As a student, I was taught French from elementary school through my college years.  I attended school in Sulphur, Louisiana as a child.  French not only was required in curriculum, but was also spoken fluently within the community and by close family.  I continued French during my high school years in Williamson, New York.  As an advanced program (Gemini), I also received college credits for completing it successfully.    My French skills are used loosely and in no formal setting, nor on a consistent basis.  As a result, I do consider my skill level as Beginner.
