I have begun shadowing Doctor Liston at the Collinsville Veterinary Hospital in Collinsville Oklahoma. I have learned and assisted in numerous situations. I have overseen six surgeries including the spay done on my own dog. I have learned how to give shots and draw blood. After drawing blood I was taught how to perform a blood smear and how to accurately examine it under the microscope. They have allowed me to stain slides and assist in holding dogs when needed. I have over 40 hours so far and plan to continue shadowing through the summer and next academic year.

Doctor Liston relocated to Catoosa Small Animal Hospital in Catoosa Oklahoma. I have continued to shadow Dr. Liston and have shadowed for more than 20 hours this semester. I have overseen several emergency procedures and two neuters. I have also learned how to centrifuge and stain a urine sediment sample.
