Kathryn was elected and served as 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 Chapter President for the Beta Beta Delta Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa. Responsibilities included guiding chapter in the 5 star chapter development plan, presiding at chapter and officer meetings, speaking at formal society events, updating advisor on chapter activities regularly, delegating tasks to members and officers, and monitoring and participating in the Honors in Action research project and the College Project. She led the chapter to reach it's highest level of achievement to date.


Kathryn has exceptional communication skills and is adept at conveying ideas and situations to patients, staff management, and co-workers. She recognizes that effective communication has the ability to halt problems before they begin and has made it a personal goal to communicate well with each person with which she comes into contact.

Team Player

Kathryn presented with a teammate at the National Leadership Conference for Phi Beta Lambda and won first place in the Emerging Business Issues category. They discussed the subject of whether or not the presence of mobile applications builds a stronger consumer base and increases revenue for businesses. She worked with a team member to write, edit, and present topic. Kathryn works hard for the good of her team whether it be scholastic or career related. 

Organization and Multitasking

Kathryn has the ability to organize both large events and small day to day tasks. Kathryn was Project Manager for the 2013 Pioneer Wilderness Challenge 5K run/walk. The event was North Arkansas College's chapter of Phi Beta Lambda's largest annual fundraiser. Kathryn oversaw delegation of duties to chapter members, recruitment of sponsors, race-day events, and advertising. The project was a success and Kathryn's vision of increasing community awareness and creating a website for the event were implemented for future races. 

Computer Skills

Kathryn has excellent computer skills and has experience with the Microsoft Office Suite. She adapts well to new programs and has experience with Point Click Care technology. She is also skilled with computer hardware and has built her own desktop computer. 


Kathryn volunteered full time at Hillcrest Home as a Homemaker and Certified Nurses Assistant from May 2008 January 2010. She provided direct patient care in a home-like environment. She received a Volunteer Service Award "In grateful recognition for outstanding performance, dedicated service, and contribution to Hillcrest Home in Harrison, Arkansas."


Kathryn began a bi-monthly blood drive in association with Red Cross with the vision of it becoming a permanent event at her workplace. Her vision was realized and the blood drive has become a regular community event. Kathryn recruited and encouraged donors and coordinated appointments and location for every event. Kathryn also has an excellent track record of being on time and early for work and engagements.
