Summary

Understanding the importance of (and stress that accompanies) the college admissions process, IvyWise motivates and empowers students to achieve their academic and personal goals. With expert, experienced counselors, tutors, and test preparation specialists, IvyWise supports students during the entire admissions process. IvyWise does not just concentrate its efforts on students applying to colleges; the company offers expert guidance to students and families applying to pre-K programs, elementary schools, middle schools, high schools, and graduate schools as well. The counselors and staff, based out of the company’s West 57th Street headquarters in New York City, include former admissions officers and deans of admission at schools like Yale University, Princeton University, Georgetown University, Brown University, New York University, and more.

By working one on one with students in person, via Internet video, or by phone, IvyWise helps a student plan and prepare for their future by uncovering what the student wants out of their education and then giving them the tools to accomplish those goals. IvyWise also offers tutoring for all standardized tests and academic subjects.

For students applying to college, IvyWise counseling and tutoring services are available as early as a student’s first year of high school. Each IvyWise counselor works with the student and their parents to create an all-encompassing, individualized action plan that aims at the conventional hard factors of courses, grades, and test scores but also helps the student develop soft factors, such as extracurricular activities, internships, and community service - all tailored to the student's interests. When students enter the spring of their junior year, IvyWise counselors provide guidance and feedback on multiple aspects of the application process, including personal statements and essays, resumes, college visits and interviews, teacher relationships, balanced college lists, and more, all in a manner that will best and most accurately represent who a student is to a school’s admissions committee. Students’ applications are reviewed and edited by their individual counselors, as well as the entire team of expert counselors.

For students and families who seek additional attention or direction beyond the services of a school guidance counselor, IvyWise complements  school guidance counselors’ efforts by providing personalized attention to each student. IvyWise will guide a student throughout his or her time in high school to help cultivate interests and use them to make an impact, create a challenging high school course plan, and instill lifelong academic habits. IvyWise is recognized throughout the world for its expertise, track record, and collaborative approach. IvyWise counselors demystify the selective school admissions process. They act as cheerleaders and mentors for their students, and they are uniquely attentive and accessible.
