International Experience

Study Abroad: Traveled to Ecuador and the Galapagos (Biology Study)

  • Identified different species of tortoises based on shell identification
  • Snorkeled on the islands to gain skills in the field

  • Animal Rehabilitation Keep allowed me to participate in caring for exotic animals such as sea turtles, spoonbill birds, and other birds/hawks. I participated in the day to day care of these animals as well as education events and aiding in animal releases once they were healthy.
  • Leadership position for Five Stones Community Church in Ashland-Youth Group Leader for 5-12th grades gaining leadership, communicator, and education skills. Teaching and mentoring teens enables me to not only better myself but my local community. 
  • Participated with PAWS in the local Animal Shelter
  • Aided in Sea Turtle Nest hatching and excavation on Kure Beach, NC
  • Assistant Soccer Coach for kindergarten-3rd grade soccer league in Northwestern School District

Summer Camp & Group Facilitation Intern

  • Managed camp budget and purchased materials for crafts, games, and snacks. Successfully made the most profit for the camps since the birth of the programs
  • Promoted, organized, and facilitated five weeks of summer camps, three sessions of Sports and Activities, Adventure Week, and Creative Campers. Week long camps for children age’s 5-12years.
