Oncology - University of Washington Medical Center

Medical Oncology  

Currently assisting Bladder Cancer Multidisciplinary Clinic UWMC/SCCA Urology. 

Coordinate and complex chemotherapy visits. Communicates with Infusion Center, local Infusion facilities, and care for bladder cancer neoadjuvant & adjuvant patients. Interface with the SCCA facility, SCCA Physicians, UW Physicians, Oncology RN’s, and Oncology ARNP schedules.  Obtained accurate insurance preauthorization. Performed orthostatic vital signs. Create financial clearance referrals, PICC/Port placement with facilitating lab orders internal & external via epic system. Assist post op visits, wound/ostomy care, staple removals, collect fecal samples, urine samples, room patients, stocking rooms, monitor lab results & enter into patient Epic charts. Perform EKG's and serve as clinical support during patients visits to ARNP, RN, and MD's. In-depth knowledge of ICD-10. Provide resources to patients regarding local housing, transportation, and supportive care. Assist with manager, physicians, and nurses to develop, review, implement and maintain policies and procedures directly related to clinic protocols.


Certified Medical Assistant (40hrs/week)

Urology/Gynecology /Wound - University of Washington Medical Center

Assisted Urology Physicians with clinic procedures including prostate biopsies, cystoscopy, vasectomies, sperm retrieval (TESA), catheter removals/insertions, void trials, etc. Sterilize procedure equipment's, quality control & monitoring CIDEX solution, Pro-EZ, and glucose equipment as well as neutralizing solutions. Room patients in timely manner, check full set of vitals, perform PVR’s, urine flow meters, pre/post op care under RN/ARNP/MD supervision, staple removals, and provides clinical support to the team. Operates medical document systems such as ORCA, Mindscape, Epic, Life Image, EMR’s, and Urodynamics with fluoro equipment's. Schedules and coordinates with Radiology to coincide with patient follow ups. Clean patient rooms, routinely stocks rooms accordingly to physicians specific needs. Instruct patients on urine collections for urinalysis, culture, urine dipstick tests, and operating centrifuge. Administering injections and blood draws directed by physician, ARNP, or RN. Aided the Director in interviewing prospective MA's, and Certified Nurse’s also helped author and administer employee evaluations. Participated in staff education committees to assure CMS and JCAHO hospital accreditation. Served as a reference resource for new medical assistant graduates and employees.


Senior Care giver (25hrs/week)

Home Health

Assisted family caregivers with fostering duties of 85 year old women with Parkinson’s and rheumatoid arthritis. Caring duties included monitoring all vitals; bathing, dressing
and grooming; assisted with walking and light exercises; engaged in physical and mental exercises; planned, prepared, and fed meals; transferred patient to and from bed to
wheelchair; toileting assistance and incontinent care. Daily duties included picking up prescriptions, administered oral medications; provided medication reminders; reported changes in physical, mental, or emotional health to caregiver; escorted on appointments (doctor appointments, physical therapy, religious events, etc.); and established a companionship.

Urology - Pacific Medical Center

Provided clinical support within scope of practice as defined by state law. Cleaned and sterilized instruments and disposed of contaminated supplies. Recorded patients' medical history, vital statistics and test results in medical records. Escorted patients to examination rooms and prepared them for physician exams and procedures.
