Dr. Karl Baehr is Director of Business and Entrepreneurial Studies at Emerson College in Boston, a position he was selected for from a field of over 100 applicants nationwide in 2004. Baehr was selected among the Top Professors of Entrepreneurship in the country by Fortune Magazine in 2007. His work with the Emerson Experience in Entrepreneurship (E3) was the cover story of Expressions Magazine in June 2008. "Going Business Class" highlighted E3, and the 50+ student business opportunities created from the program to date. Baehr serves as core faculty for Business and Entrepreneurial Studies, managing budgets, ongoing curriculum review, recruitment and supervision of related faculty. His service to the institution includes participation on departmental and college-wide committees, student advising, conducting workshops for students, parents and alumni, and serving as a mentor to students in the Viacom Scholarship Program. Baehr presented "Integrated Marketing - A Communication Perspective: Creativity and Customer Focus in a Non-Business Education Program" at the Academy of Marketing Sciences in Vancouver in May 2008 with Emerson Colleague Douglas Quintal. During AY 07/08 Dr. Baehr worked with a student production team at WERS Live Mix recording "The Next Paradigm Music Project." Baehr is Executive Producer of TNP, soundtrack to the book "The Next Paradigm: Common Sense for this Generation." Published in two languages in June 2008 by the University of San Marcos Press in Lima, Peru, TNP is the second book contributed to, and edited by Baehr for authors Thomas Cryan and Aldo Berti. Dr. Baehr sits on the board of several companies including Interterra New Media Group, and was appointed to the Board of Directors for ReVolve, Inc., a Boston-based business development firm, in May 2008.


An active entrepreneur, Karl Baehr teaches and designs degree programs drawing on more than 25 years of experience as an entrepreneur, and working with early-stage business ventures. His business advising firm, Knowledge Based Evolution (KBE) will celebrate its 25th year in business in 2009. Recognized for his knowledge of, and passion for innovation Dr. Baehr has appeared in numerous media, and speaks regularly on a variety of business, and business education topics. He holds a patent for a revolutionary radio ratings technology that he developed for Actual Radio Measurement, Inc., is an accomplished musician, and author. Dr. Baehr presently splits his time between homes in New England, and New Mexico where he has lived for more than 20 years.

Baehr's doctoral work at Regent University focused on the evolution of a new way to effectively measure media use in a converged media environment. His graduate work focused on the Diffusion of Innovations, or how new ideas come to be adopted. This work was completed at the University of New Mexico with influential scholar Everett Rogers. His BA in Radio, Television and Film is from Stephen F. Austin State University. He is is open to opportunities in curriculum/program development, departmental/school administration, and works with a limited number of clients each year.
