  • Develop strategies for innovation in various product categories including fresh produce, meat, dairy, packaged goods and general merchandise

Senior Manager - Sustainability

  • Researched, developed and implemented a merchandise sustainability strategy within 3 months of stepping into the role
  • Launched online electronics recycling partner (Gazelle) 5 months ahead of schedule, demonstrating cross functional leadership and execution of a strategic vision
  • Spearheaded the Earth Day campaign and drove a 125% sales increase year over year
  • Achieved $35MM vs. a forecast of $15MM in FY10 sales of sustainable product assortment

  • Exceeded FY09 sales plan by 11% or $5MM; Exceeded FY09 GP plan by 5.6% or $470K
  • Exceeded FY08 sales plan by 6.5% or $2MM; Exceeded FY08 GP plan by 3.5% or $224K
  • Increased FY09 GM% by .8% and FY08 GM% by 2.8% by negotiating lower costs, strategically choosing the assortment and limiting markdowns
  • Appointed by Chief Merchant to this department to source and expand sustainable products. Grew the assortment from 3 to 150 SKUs
  • Managed development of 3 direct reports
  • Sourced and set up 26 new suppliers and added 22 mid-tier and top-tier brands
  • Piloted gift card promotion with Dyson that drove $270K in incremental sales. The success of the program resulted in a development project to allow buyers to implement this type of promotion systematically
  • Negotiated $350K in coop funding from suppliers to run shipping promos in floorcare. As a result, increased sales by 43%
  • Negotiated $50K in funding from suppliers to run gift card promotions on Energy Star products in order to drive customer awareness of sustainability
