Geospatial/Data Management  

  • Fundamental understanding of the design and use of RDBMS and other Geodatabase Administration tools to facilitate geospatial data management solutions - MS Access, SQL Server, SSMS, ArcSDE, PostgreSQL with PostGIS and Geoserver, pgAdmin, Modeling, ETL, Scripting/Loading/Storing Vectors and Rasters, SSIS, FME, GeoBlacklight spatial repository, Cloud-based source (Amazon AWS instance - EC2) with Remote Desktop, ESRI ArcCatalog and ArcToolbox;
  • Proficient with the applications of SQL for database querying and Access VBA for database design;
  • Meticulous file management, metadata management (FGDC, ISO) with great attention to detail and QA/QC.

Assist in the development, compilation, organization, analysis, and visualization of spatial data, aerial imagery, LiDAR data for a variety of on-going programs:

(1) Coastal Parcels Python Automation Project - writing ArcPy scripts with documentation to automate attribute table editing and updating workflows for Texas coastal county parcel data acquired from TNRIS;

(2) Coastal Parcels Update Project - parcel data from Texas coastal counties acquired from TNRIS with manual data cleansing and updating performed;

(3) ReGen Project - verifying/editing tract attributes and locations for State of Texas PSF lands;

(4) Historical Texas Counties Georeferencing Project - georeferenced scanned historical Texas county maps and wrote project's georeferencing documentation;

(5) Ad hoc cartography mapping deliverables.

Texas Natural Resources Information System (TNRIS)

Assist in projects to enhance the ability of TNRIS to serve data to the public:

(1) Image Inventory Project - develop, test, debug and deploy Python program and perform SQL queries on output to analyze over 5 TB of historical aerial imagery and its metadata; create customized dashboards; suggest opportunities for continuous improvement to include file management practices and data QA/QC.

(2) QA/QC for Texas Imagery Service that serves 6 inch, natural color imagery for the State of Texas;

(3) Conduct on-going digitization of historical aerial image collection;
