An accomplished member of the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Louisiana State University (LSU) Health Sciences Center, Dr. Kamran Khoobehi currently serves as Chief of Aesthetic Surgery. Dr. Kamran Khoobehi began his plastic surgery career in 1997. Since that time, he has achieved wide recognition as a leading proponent of fat grafting, a surgical technique that utilizes an individual’s own excess body fat for cosmetic or medical treatments. Dr. Khoobehi organized the First and Second International Fat Grafting Forum to educate other physicians about the advantages of fat grafting. Beyond his work with this procedure, Dr. Khoobehi is also recognized as the first surgeon in the world to successfully connect eyelid blood vessels during microsurgical replantation. In addition to his work at LSU Health Sciences Center, Dr. Kamran Khoobehi currently provides an array of surgical and nonsurgical services as the solo practitioner at Advanced Plastic Surgery in Metairie, Louisiana. Dr. Kamran Khoobehi completed his undergraduate studies at the University of North Texas in 1986 and earned his Doctor of Medicine from the Saint Louis University School of Medicine in 1990. His medical training includes completing an internship, a residency, and a plastic surgery fellowship at LSU Health Sciences Center. Dr. Kamran Khoobehi holds memberships with several professional organizations, such as the American Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery, The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the Louisiana Society of Plastic Surgery.
