Throughout his career as a legal professional and business executive in Orange County, California, Kamran A. Khawar has established himself as an industry leader. During his time as a law student at the University of San Diego’s School of Law, he served as a legislative clerk with the United States Congress, House Commerce Committee; as a law clerk with the United States Attorney’s Office in San Diego; and a law review member of San Diego International Law Journal. After graduating from law school, Kamran A. Khawar became an associate attorney with a law practice in Irvine, where he oversaw an array of civil, business and commercial litigation matters.
After two years as an associate attorney with a Costa Mesa law firm, Kamran A. Khawar accepted an offer to become a senior associate attorney with a law firm in Irvine. He won a number of cases during his time with the firm, including the following:
*Successfully obtained a favorable settlement with Thai Airways in a complex international law matter involving the Warsaw and Montreal Convention treaties which governs the liability of international air carriers with respect to the carriage of passengers, baggage, and cargo.
*Initiating a joint venture that resulted in an agreement between Flour Corporation and United States Army Core of Engineers, for the highly successful $4 million Project. Undertook a series of negotiations that satisfied the needs of the United States Army Core of Engineers, carriers, and subcontractors while still protecting the interests of the joint venture and Flour Corporation.
*Successfully arranged for pre-litigation strategies in response to claims at project site adjacent to nearby fault lines. Immediately coordinated efforts with County officials, contracted for remediation, soil transport, removal and replacement, and follow-up site monitoring. Because of these timely actions, no citations, fines, or litigation resulted, and environmental impact of soil subsidence was minimized.
Today, Kamran A. Khawar serves as the president of VinoVue, Inc., where he oversees product development, design and legal matters.
