A well-rounded technologist who cut his teeth in a cannery, fabricating industrial machine frameworks and flow-paths and cataloging every device, job and station on every line. Broadcasting has helped cement many technical skills and fresh perspectives, but I find I want more of a leadership role than my billet allows and the path of broadcasting technician to technical leadership is narrow because the field is, frankly, tiny.

When KXTV's only Earth Station Up-link lost motion control, having the ability to isolate the 3-phase 230V elevation motor as the only failed part in the AC drive circuit and have it picked up, rebuilt, returned and reinstalled within 24 hours saved the company from lengthy and costly up-link rental fee to satisfy their network obligations while the earth station was diagnosed and repaired.
A recurring scene of confusion between two departments was eliminated with Windows Scripting. Once product log delivery was automated, both departments spent the recovered time focusing on their core job skills.
