United States Army National Guard

I am currently a Sergeant (E-5).  I am the team leader of 1st Platoon, 4th Squad, 2nd Team.  I am the first-line supervisor of three soldiers.  I have many duties as an Infantryman.  Some of them include: using anti-personnel and anti-tank mines, using electrical and non-electrical demolition charge, using night-vision sights, using communication equipment, calling for indirect fire, evaluating terrain, selecting weapon emplacements, using maps and map overlays, finding elevation and grid azimuths, leading an infantry team in combat, and training subordinate personnel. I also work with my soldiers under me to help them further their military and civilian careers.  When my soldiers perform under the standard, I correct their actions with physical and/or mental punishment.  So far, in my own military career I have received the following medals: Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal,  and Army Good Conduct Medal.

Internet Salesman/Trailer Builder

CFS Equip

I created an eBay store and became the first internet salesman of my company. I created a new, professional-looking website which received many good remarks. I created new forms and quote calculators that made quoting and completing jobs easier. I designed pre-drawn packages of mobile kitchens and concession trailers on Auto CAD to cut down on drawing times. I built mobile kitchens and concession trailers with various materials, in which I used my plumbing, electrical, and construction skills. I even used metal working and welding skills when inventing a frame for a generator that mounts on the front of the trailer.

United States Army National Gaurd

I ran a communications unit in Balad, Iraq as a Specialist (E-4) and was a first-line supervisor for two men. This position was supposed to be filled by an E-5 or higher. However, I was chosen to fill this slot because my supervisors thought I would exceed. I signed for communication equipment that was worth over 4 million dollars and had to ensure this equipment never went missing. I also ensured it was in operable status, filled with the correct data in order to communicate, and the software was up to date. I had a total of seven different communication devices that I had to learn about within the first two weeks before the instructor left.

I am 26 years old and currently a full-time student and a Sergeant in the U.S. Army National Guard. I've been married for almost four years now.  We are expecting our first baby in October.  I love my family and place them first in everything I do.  I grew up in a very religious setting and have gained high standards and morals because of this.  I have a love for the outdoors, and many have called me an adventurist. I am an outgoing, easygoing, fun-loving guy, who thinks there is always room for a little humor. I am very organized and maintain a high level of discipline, which I know would help your company succeed in all aspects. I blame this on my military background where I have had to pay close attention to detail in order to accomplish the mission at hand.I have a wide range of skills ranging from managing to construction. I have done plumbing, electrical, construction work, welding, and metalworking. In management positions, I have had to develop teamwork among my colleagues and have been responsible for hiring and firing employees. I am a very quick learner and have taught myself how to use Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Auto CAD. I am very knowledgeable about computers and software. In 2009, I was placed in a hostile environment and was given two weeks to learn a new set of skills that would directly affect the outcome of my unit’s upcoming missions and the lives of my fellow soldiers. Their lives were in my hands. I developed these skills so quickly and proficiently that my Battalion recognized me as the standard. I was nominated for the Bronze Star and the Army Meritorious Service Medal by my supervisors. My quick learning abilities, dedication, and hard work, enabled my unit to accomplish every mission with no casualties, which allowed all of my fellow soldiers in my Company to make it home safely from Iraq.
