University of Wisconsin-Madison

Year-long appointment for the new media initiative Inside Islam: Dialogues and Debates. Improved coordination between University of Wisconsin-Madison and Wisconsin Public Radio partners.

Led collaborative efforts between partners to accomplish the following online.

  • Launched a self-hosted blog using Wordpress.
  • Regularly updated content in HTML.
  • Writing portfolio of more than 100 blog entries.
  • Independent research on a range of global topics.
  • Executed a long-term strategy to grow consistent readership.
  • Social media expertise on covering Islam.
  • Promoted a public radio series of almost thirty broadcasts and ensured accessibility for online users.
  • Aggregated innovative content and designed multimedia pages for each of the nine official Inside Islam programs.

Currently writing about Muslim-west tensions and Islam on three blogs.

2005 - 2007

Marketing Intern

United Way of Dane County

First graduate from the marketing internship program at United Way of Dane County. Recognized for innovative thinking and contribution to the brand message. Promoted to senior marketing intern for the next two sessions. Over a three year tenure, the marketing team also worked with interns to hone future skill sets. Dedication to the position and work to further organizational goals also left a defining mark on internship program. Taking on different roles in the marketing team improved the program and led to many opportunities for professional development.

  • Improved recruitment, the interview process, mentorship, and training for the internship program.
  • Expanded the number of interns to twelve and the program to include graphic designers.
