Staff Assistant

City of Forest Park Public Works Department

As the Staff Assistant for the Public Works Department, I provide administrative support for the staff/personnel of the department. Which included but not limited to reception functions, customer service, data entry, and general clerical tasks.

Customer Service Representative


At Publix I began at a cashier position and worked my way up to customer service representative. My duties included but were not limited to cash handling, greeting incoming and outgoing customers, balancing my till (register), stocking shelves, keeping work area clean and organized, and light secretarial work.

Georgia State University Bookstore

As a cashier for the Georgia State University Bookstore, I performed general customer service tasks including greeting incoming and outgoing customers, responded to routine questions, and resolving customer complaints. I also received/returned  payments for goods and services provided by the bookstore.

Entered, retrieved, reviewed and/or modified data in computer database, and verifies accuracy of entered data and makes corrections.

Cash handling

Received money in payments for various fees and services, balanced revenues and forwarded revenues as appropriate.

Quality customer service

Provided information and assistance regarding department services, activities, procedures, and fees. Distributed forms and documentation as requested, responded to routine questions and complaints and researched problems/complaints to initiate problem resolution.

Operates multi-line telephone

Answered telephone calls and greeted visitors, ascertained nature of business, directed callers and visitors to appropriate personnel, recorded and relayed messages, retrieved messages from voice mail, and initiated and returned calls when necessary.
