About Tony

In his 25 years in telecommunications, Tony has served as Executive Director, Vice President with many publicly traded telecommunications conglomerates in the United States.

Tony was recently the Vice President/General Manager of Retail Services Inc. for iBasis Corporation (NASDAQ:IBAS), a billion dollar publicly held company that provides international VOIP solutions for the wholesale and retail telecommunications marketplace. His responsibilities included overseeing all business operations, strategic initiatives, and sales and marketing development in the areas of prepaid services, wholesale partner outsourcing, and channel and distribution management for iBasis.

Prior to joining iBasis in 2007, Tony was the Executive Director for Verizon Business (MCI) where he directed the MCI partner sales organization for the U.S. Through his initiative, the company captured many new partners generating multimillion contracts in new sales in the first year. Tony was the key leader in the reorganization of the MCI partner program to be profitable and to perform above MCI’s sales objective so Verizon Telecom’s Solution Provider program could incorporate the business unit, after the merger.

Prior to his role as Executive Director, Tony served in a variety of managerial responsibilities since April 1996 when he joined MCI.

  • During 2002 through 2004, Tony held the position of Director of Business Sales and Service for MCI’s Commercial markets. He was responsible for over $50 million in revenues and led sales, service, and technical support organization that managed MCI’s business and strategic accounts. He successfully turned around the post bankrupt Commercial Markets branch operations to lead the country for strategic sales in 2003.
  • From 1996 though 2001, Tony held a variety of senior business and sales management positions while at MCI, playing a key role in the company’s New England operations as the telecommunications carrier grew. He was responsible for sales and service for over $120+     million in sales.
  • CTC Communications recruited Tony in 1995 to develop their indirect channel programs. As Vice President of Strategic Development, he was responsible for the creation and implementation of the company’s indirect plan. Tony was successful in implementing the channel program with the purpose of producing significant new sales for the company that resulted in over $2 million in annualized sales before MCI.
  • From 1984 to 1995, Tony worked for Cable and Wireless Communications starting out in sales, and in less than one year, moved into management Tony is known for his uncanny ability to successfully manage start-up markets and for turning around unproductive branch operations while at Cable and Wireless.

Tony holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania. He has been involved with the American Liver Foundation Marathon team and a variety of community volunteer programs in the greater Boston area.
