General Studies

Kellogg Community College

Have over 100 credit hours of study in multiple fields including: general business; science, including chemistry; mathmatics, including calculus; technical/mechanical engineering and drafting/design courses

Detail oriented designer with extensive experience in design of parts with consideration to manufacturing, supplier and customer related requirements. Have performed engineering and design support for both U.S. and international manufacturing plants and design centers as well as customer support for part suppliers and major truck OEMs and worked on joint venture program for foreign manufacturing opportunities. Also  experienced with facility engineering involving design and set-up of new office and manufacturing plant functional layouts and submitting environmental reports as required.

ProEngineer CAD for design of parts/assemblies

I have used ProEngineer CAD software for about 12 years. I was not a daily user but used it as jobs came up that needed part/assembly creation, part/assembly modifications, drawing creation, drawing modifications or part/assembly analysis.

Geometric Tolerancing for design of parts/assemblies

I have used geometric tolerancing for the design criteria of parts and assemblies for many years and have a good, workable knowledge of it's purpose for the manufacturability and function of parts and assemblies.

Visualization/drawing abilities

I have excellent visualization skills and drawing ability as I am an artist and also have years of experience with mechanical drafting and design work. This has made it easy for me to be able to draw objects with accuracy and to visualize the different views needed for drawings and the cross sections of parts, and has also helped in being able to sketch details where there have been problem areas with parts to help describe and talk through problems and solutions for manufacturing and machining issues.

Work History since 2009

Since I have been laid off, I have kept busy working on multiple projects while still actively seeking permanent employment. I have helped elderly friends and relatives with maintenance projects around their homes, including installing new exterior siding, new windows and doors, replacing old plumbing,  roofing jobs, painting projects and landscaping.

I am now on the board of the Fort Custer Historical Society and working to open a new military museum at the fort. I have also set up historical displays at the local library through this past year, highlighting area military history and people.

I am actively involved in several area singing groups as well, including the Battle Creek Community Chorus and Ars Voce.
