Tuition Teacher

I'm currently teaching Secondary 2 Elementary Mathematics (Express) at CampusImpact (a VWO), once every week, for approximately 2 hours per week. There are 4 students in my class, all from different schools located in Yishun.

I would either teach a topic according to the MOE syllabus or prepare revision worksheets for my students to attempt every lesson. I make myself available, approachable and patient in explaining difficult concepts to them beyond tuition hours. Besides teaching them the syllabus, I often affirm my students of their capabilities in excelling academically, spur them on with encouragement cards.

Since I have acquired some experience from being a Sunday School Teacher at my Church since 2006, interacting with children diagnosed with ADHD during my period of volunteering at Students Service Centre in December 2009 and children at Cambodia during my Mission Trip in April 2010, I am able to connect well with my students, and ahare life skills with them, on top of mathematical problem-solving skills.

Ticketing Assistant

Today Travel Pte Ltd

Working at Today Travel Pte Ltd has helped me learn to engage in people with appropriate communication skills (be it over the phone, e-mail or face-to-face), maintain lasting relationships with customers, and enhance my work efficiency.

As a travel agent in-charge of the ticketing section, I had to help customers check flight availabilities for the destination they were going to, book and issue their air tickets, arrange transport and accomodation for them, and make necessary editing of information with various airlines over the phone. Sometimes, I also had to entertain and serve walk-in customers who were keen in our travel packages to various parts of China, translate certain documents from Chinese to English, and answer enquiries over the phone.

Most importantly, I learnt to build strong relationships with my colleagues, worked hand in hand with them to initiate a memorable holiday itinerary for our customers, gaining respect and trust from my colleagues!

Gym is the skill I recently picked up for Sports and Wellness Programme, one of the modules I had the moment I gained entry into Ngee ann Polytechnic. Together with my course mates, I began working out at the Gym once every week for 2 hours, and sometimes twice. So far, I've learnt how to use the Vivo System and Signature Series to train both Cardio and Strength at the Gym in Ngee Ann Polytechnic. Besides that, I've learnt to work out using the Gym Ball, Resistance Tube, as well as practise simple stretching exercises with the Gym mat.

I'm a Year 1 student at Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Singapore, doing my Diploma in Psychology and Community Services. My passion in life is serving God, and thus I would like to be a living testimony that glorifies His name wherever He has placed me in. I treasure every opportunity that I have to enhance my skills and knowledge in community services, so that what I do in future will create an impact on our community. All in all, I enjoy being the instrument to touch and transform lives around me! I believe in not giving up in the face of adversities. We are like a diamond refined in the fire; the process is tough but the end-product will be beautiful.

I would like to discover career options that are in line with my course of study, and explore those that are suitable for me. I look forward to investing my time on new experiences!
