Founded company with three fellow students. Developed educational software for the Apple Macintosh.

Swiss Reinsurance Company

Made improvement to reinsurance simulation game used to train customers. Created Unix training course.

1986 - Present

Responsible for lab supervision, writing and grading all exams for computer graphics course.

Reporting to the Chief Architect with diverse responsibilities. Grew with startup company from programmer to development manager responsible for entire development team.

Managed and implemented a wide variety of projects as an independent consultant with an international client base (US, Canada, UK, Germany, France). Sample Projects:

  • Kushner Companies, Florham Park, NJ - Designed, implemented and tested Intranet-web-browser based rental property administration system replacing manual collation of spreadsheets entered by property managers. Technology: ASP, VB, MS SQL ServerSolution Benefits: Improved integrity of data and lower data entry cost.
  • Millward Brown, Chicago, IL - Analyzed, designed and implemented large global sample management system (over 2,000 users) at international top market research company. Achieved consensus among multiple geographically dispersed stakeholders with conflicting interests. Technology: Solaris, C, MS OfficeSolution Benefits: The new system lowered the support cost and down time. It increased production by allowing transfer and sharing of data collection projects between any centers worldwide.
  • Software Product - Designed, developed and installed on-site dialer interface software sold internationallyTechnology: Solaris, Linux, XML, C, tcp/ip socketsSolution Benefits: Over $ 100,000 in sales. 99.9% defect free. Very satisfied client base.
  • Project Management Institute (PMI) - Managed and implemented e-commerce project automating the NJ chapter registration process for monthly meetings and symposia. Researched, designed and implemented web-site and managed vendors. Solution Benefits: Dramatic administrative time savings. Within two months 70% of the registrations were done via on-line system. (HTML, Miva Merchant, ASP, VBscript)

Rose through the ranks from summer intern to Vice President Custom Projects at Leading Multinational Software House.

  • Managed and completely restructured department responsible for consulting projects and software rollout at new customers. The department included employees in New York, Cincinnati, San Francisco and London. Achievements: Significantly improved staff morale, service quality and profitability within the 1st quarter of operation of the new department.
  • Managed predictive dialer development project. Managed full SDLC, support and hardware inventory control. Participated in the design, coding and testing. The product includes a custom-built computer system and real-time client/server software. Technology: Solaris, Linux, OS/2, C, C++Solution Benefits: Within two years of release the annual revenue exceeded $1,000,000 with over 20 installed locations and 2,000 seats worldwide. The product had by far the lowest reported incident level of any software written at the company.
  • Designed and implemented many small projects for high profile (including Fortune 100) customersAchievement: building a reputation to deliver quality on time for the company.
