Hi! I'm Justin: aspiring Renaissance man and brain for hire. Thinking is my strong suit, with eloquence coming a strong second.
Creativity, like the word innovation, is losing its meaning. I intend to give that meaning back. I'll be the one in the meeting who says "What if...?" and "Wouldn't it be cool if...?" because exploring new ideas and solutions is no longer novel, it is necessary. The one thing I can't stand is when people say "We've always done things this way", to which I would say:
"In a world of change, the learners shall inherit the earth, while the learned shall find themselves perfectly suited for a world that no longer exists." (Eric Hoffer)
Leading a team of 3, I manage my company's tender responses, social media platforms, award nominations, branding (including a brand refresh), sponsorships, market research, CRM system and other projects where my creativity is found useful.
In this role, I've successfully written 2 winning nominations (WSABE Excellence in Business & OSPA Guarding Company of the Year), several winning tenders and their short-list presentations.
Had my first foray in Salesforce and Hubspot. Challenged myself on the content side of writing and continued to refine my long and short copy.
Joined the big ideas agency to write, proof, edit, ideate and lend my general creativity around the house.
I've worked on social copy (posts and tweets), radio & TVC scripts, music lyrics, website and app copy decks, campaign ideas, client presentations (as well as presenting them to the client), and everything in between.
During my time there, I worked with the following clients: American Express, ASOS, Caltex, Cure Brain Cancer, Deep Spring (Coca-Cola), Event Cinemas (AHL), Gumtree, Lend Lease, Nokia, QT Hotel Sydney (AHL), Rydges (AHL), Telstra and Tiny Beans.
Regularly contributed to the Groucho Tendency, an award-winning non-partisan political blog in the UK.
Writing copy for websites alongside art directors and web developers. This has allowed me to hone my ability to write copy that is search engine optimized.
I was invited to join the Ogilvy & Mather internship program: The Lucky 8. Being brought in from around the world, the premise of the Lucky 8 is to bring fresh ideas from people who aren't traditional ad people. During my time there, I worked with the following clients: Coca-Cola, Pond's, National Environment Agency (Singapore Government), Shangri-La and Breeze (Unilever).
I worked as an administrator and PA to the creative director in an advertising and PR company. My role involved liaising with local and overseas clients and suppliers, market research in the UK, producing and maintaining a CRM database, creating presentations for the creative director and general clerical work.
