Los Angeles Music Center

Represented the second largest arts education organization in the country in classrooms, festivals and workshops.  Planned, wrote and implemented content-integrated art lessons to 4th 5th and 6th grade classes.  Worked closely with teachers and administrators to identify and target areas of need for content inclusion and developed appropriate lessons.  Worked with teachers in workshop environments, and conducted family workshops.

Planned and implemented arts integrated, content-based lesson plans.Delivered lessons to children of many different ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds.Developed and executed coaching and training programs to guide teachers and artists to create arts integrated lessons.Taught lessons in class as a partnership with teachers and other artists.  Wrote curriculum and training materials.  Developed and piloted Arts-integration training for teachers.

Taught and demonstrated support and guidance to camp counselors.Managed and directed counselors.  Assisted in the proper planning, execution and evaluation of the day-to-day prorgammatic and logistical operations of summer camp.  Maintained a fun and safe camp environment.  Acted as a resource in assisting staff and campers work through inner and interpersonal conflicts.  Evaluated staff periodically and provided meaningful feedback.

YMCA Camp Oakes

Responsible for the total welfare and program leadership of a group of teen campers.  Demonstrate leadership skills and conflict resolution with teens.  Shot, edited and designed Camp Oakes promotional DVD.Shot photos for marketing and promotion for Camp Oakes.


Justin Rueff is a teaching artist with over four years experience writing, revising and implementing content based curriculum.  Justin has conducted teacher trainings, family workshops, artist trainings and taught arts-integrated lessons to students from kindergarten up to middle school.  As an arts integration specialist Justin's focus has been on integrating the content standards such as math and language arts into a "disguised learning" arts based curriculum.  Justin has guided teachers to write their own art lessons in order to create more learning opportunities and to reach more students.  Justin implements a variety of teaching techniques and is trained in working with English Language Learners, students with disabilities and has worked with students across an enormous variety of socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.



I wish to gain employment in a creative or educational field while I continue to work on a degree in Spanish.  I would like to work for a business or non-profit that believes in making a positive impact and making a difference.  I put a lot of myself into every job that I do and would like to gain employment with a company that is open to and supportive of growth.  I would like to contribute my talents to a company that I can feel good about working for at the end of the day.
