With more than a century of family history in banking, Julio M. Herrera Velutini serves as Chairman of the Board for an international bank. Operating from offices in Puerto Rico and Florida, Mr. Herrera Velutini leads an online bank that is located in PR and operates under U.S. banking regulations. His vision of the bank offers clients unhindered mobility and ease of use, whatever their geographic location.Prior to taking his current position in 2008, Mr. Herrera Velutini held a number of executive banking positions. From 2001 to 2005, he served as Senior Director of BBO Financial Services Inc. and from 2004 to 2007 as Senior Director of Microfin A.C. During this time, he also acted as Vice President of the Board of Group Caracas and held board positions with the Venezuelan subsidiaries of the major international automotive companies BMW and Kia Motors.Born in Caracas, Julio M. Herrera Velutini completed much of his education abroad at The American School in England and The American School in Switzerland (TASIS). He undertook his higher education at the Universidad Central de Venezuela, where he graduated. While still an undergraduate, he gained practical financial experience as a stockbroker on the then-rapidly expanding Caracas Stock Exchange.Among his other professional ventures, Julio M. Herrera Velutini served as Senior Director of Multinvest Operadora de Bolsa, C.A., for much of the 1990s. In 1998, he founded Financiera Venezolana, C.A., serving as Managing Director for two years. He next undertook duties as a Managing Director with Transbanca, C.A., for a period of six years.
