Millennium Pharmaceuticals: The Takeda Oncology Company

Responsible for the design and development of leadership curriculum, annual succession planning process and ongoing development of identified high potentials to include the executive coaching program. Lead the company engagement/ employer of choice surveys and ongoing action planning.  Responsible for the strategic planning and budgeting for the learning and development organization. Manage the team responsible for the company's talent management processes to include SuccessFactors system. Managed $1.5 million budget with 3 direct reports.

Notable Accomplishments:

  • Led efforts to achieve Employer of Choice recognition both locally and nationally through the execution employee engagement surveys, resulting consistent organization wide action planning. Results yielded organizational commitments to improving decision making, work environment initiatives, and consistent recognition locally (Boston Globe #1 Top Place to Work) and nationally as a best place to work (Fortune Best Place to Work Ranking #20).
  • Led global team that designed a leadership competency model to support the development of mid-level to senior managers in 7 affiliates for Takeda Pharmaceuticals (global parent company based in Japan).
  • Designed and implemented senior leadership speaker forum and communication series to the top 120 leaders within the company. Contracted high-profile business leaders (Tony Schwartz, Rosabeth Moss Kantor, Tammy Erickson) to speak with senior leader population. Facilitated discussion with 120 leaders to identify key core values following acquisition by Takeda Pharmaceuticals.
  • Instrumental in reducing annual employee attrition from 17% to 6% by implementing a leadership development curriculum for technical managers; enhancing communication skills, emotional intelligence, and career coaching skills.

Consultant to senior leadership teams within the pharmaceutical and consumer goods industries. Provided strategic guidance and facilitation for executive team building/leadership development efforts within major pharmaceutical organizations including Johnson & Johnson’s Cordis Quality Group, Ortho-Clinical Diagnostic, and Wyeth Consumer Healthcare.


Director, Organizational Learning

Proctor and Gamble (The Gillette Company)

Led the development of global account management curriculum for key account managers and account teams.  Supported the integration of the organization into P&G.  Coached leaders and teams in the significant change of a large scale integration. 

Notable Accomplishments:

  • Established a combined vision among working groups; outlined guiding principles for team building, visioning, staffing, on boarding, succession planning.
  • Participated in the integration team for the North American Commercial Operations divisions; identified approximately 50 key personnel critical to the new organizational model and assisted senior managers in developing a comprehensive communication plan for generating buy-in from stakeholders and key personnel. Achieved 95% acceptance of offers made to Gillette employees.
  • Facilitated the creation and implementation of accelerated integration and divestiture activities while achieving the highest share goals for the category.
  • Established and facilitated the "Next Generation Leader" succession planning process which was used as an integrated staffing model for combining P&G's and Gillette's human capital.
