Responsible for planning & directing all the activities related to the service offered to our internal and external clients, providing all the information related to their purchase orders, and their status inside all the Supply Chain (Production, Planning, Import process, product storage, billing, distribution, despatch and call center)

Among the main responsibilities of my position were:

  • Define strategies to guarantee finish products supplyfrom ourRegional Production Centre, in order to satisfy local demand (real and proyections) improving costs related to customs, import processes, storage and shipping to our Local Distribution Centre.
  • Control together with the Regional Operations department, of the supply missing indicator, that responded to the most efficient and effective way to the Marketing and Sales (S&OP) plans guaranteeing the compliance of the corporate objectives.
  • Negotiation of the commercial conditions that governed the relationships with the raw material and service suppliers, such as prices, payment conditions and delivery plans, in accordance with the quality requirements and following the guide lines of Belcorp Corporation.
  • Define, together with Sales and Marketing Departments, the annual Billing Schedule, based on the sales regions per brand, daily operations capacity, sales objectives, finished products supply and special promotions.

To reach the objectives and goals of the position stipulated five direct reports (a Billing Head, a Supply Head, two Client Satisfaction Head and a Call Center Supervisor), and 100 indirect reports.Additionally I worked with a various local and foreign suppliers of diverse fields.

Among the most significant achievements under my management, I can mention:

  • I executed a Purchase Centralize Project, reaching savings to 500.000 USD in six months, optimizing department budgets.
  • I executed control processes to identify differences between all the invoices received from our suppliers and the real prozes negotiating with them, reaching savings to 300.000 USD.
  • Monitoring Developments to improve finished product deliveries to our Local Distribution Centre, and planning internal meetings with Marketing and Sales departments to analyze the demand proyections, reducing the suplly missing indicator in 20 p.p.
  • Billing Process Improvement, reducing 2p.p. in documents verification failures.
  • Increase 25% in our corporate service level, analyzing the call center structure (TMO, agents and call numbers).
  • Leader in outsourcing projects (Call Center service and printing department) reaching savings to ship documents and increase our service level.

Planning Manager

Responsible for planning & directing all the activities related to the purchase, receiving, storage & distribution of the raw material. Production planning & delivery of the cigarettes with the purpose of guaranteeing the availability of the finished product for marketing according to the quality standards, cost optimization & resources as per the guide lines established by the organization.

Among the main responsibilities of my position were:

  • Definition and coordination, together with the Operations department, of the production planning (short, medium and long term) that responded to the most efficient and effective way to the Marketing and Sales (S&OP) plans guaranteeing the compliance of the corporate objectives.
  • Negotiation, together with the Supply Chain Manager, of the commercial conditions that governed the relationships with the raw material suppliers, such as prices, payment conditions and delivery plans, in accordance with the quality requirements and following the guide lines of global negotiations of BAT.
  • Estimate and control of the relative aspects of inventories, productivity, tendencies, production strategies, material consumption, among other that affect directly the achievement of the financial objectives of the Organization.
  • Validation of production feasibility (raw material supply, technology), and establishment of production plans and distribution of cigarettes, with the purpose of satisfying the requirements set by the Marketing department, to introduce/modify new products or promotions.
  • Address and control of the activities related to imports-exports with the purpose of assuring their timely administration, fulfilling the supplier-client agreements as well as all applicable regulations.
  • Evaluation, jointly with the Quality Control Management, the behavior of the raw material suppliers, to assure the compliance of the established quality control parameters of the organization.

To reach the objectives and goals of the position stipulated three direct reports (a production planner and two materials planners), and 26 indirect reports.Additionally I worked with a various local and foreign suppliers of diverse fields.The expense budget handled under my position was of US$ 0.3MM and budget for the direct purchases of materials was of US$ of 22 MM.

Among the most significant achievements under my management, I can mention:

  • I participated in the re-certification ISO 9000 for the evaluation of the Quality Management System of the Organization.
  • I planned and executed with success the design change of 40 codes of the cigarettes packing materials codes, in a period of a month.
  • I directed the production feasibility plans and distribution of new cigarettes products (changes of packaging, launch new cigarette brands & formats).
  • I planned the cigarettes raw material supply migration, toward regional suppliers, to obtain better cost benefits and supply logistics, and thus to be adapted to the negotiation guide lines of BAT, achieving the objectives established by the regional office.

Process Analyst – PMD Department

Responsible for the supervision and production plans coordination in PMD (Primary Process of Tobacco), reaching a volume of 12.000 MT per year, besides the monitoring of the quality indicators of the area.

Among the main responsibilities under my charge were:

  • Planning of the daily production of processed tobacco, as per the quality, quantity and safety standards established by the Organization, as per the proposed cigarettes production plan by the Planning Management.
  • Control of the availability of the diverse types of processed tobacco, to assure the continuity of the productive process of cigarettes.
  • Control of inventories of the raw material associated with the tobacco mixing process, to guarantee the quantities required during the preparation of the mixture.
  • Supervision of Environment, Hygiene and Industrial Security norms to guarantee the physical integrity of all the personnel under my charge.
  • Monitoring of operative indicators of the area (efficiency of production, waste of tobacco, quality control) that contributed in the reduction of costs for the Organization.

Among the main achievements during my management as the Analyst of Processes, I can mention:

  • Project Leader of the installation of a Tobacco Conditioning Cylinder:Participation in the associated purchase tender process. Development of plans to receive the equipment in the installations. Manage the contractor personnel for the installation of the equipment. Development of the test protocol and commission the cylinder. The project concluded in time increasing the quality of the processed tobacco.
  • Leader of the Spots Identification Project in Cigarettes:Developed an Infrared identification process, which permited the identification of spots found in the finished product, with the purpose of detecting improvements in the areas in the process of tobacco mixing and elaboration of cigarettes.
  • Leader of the project of production mixing tobacco with flavors:Improvements in the process were carried out, that permitted the elaboration of flavored cigarettes, and thus to comply with the request of the Marketing Management, achieving the results without the importation of required product, neither necessity of new investments for the production line nor interruption of the manufacturing process to produce the production of flavored cigarettes.
  • Waste of Tobacco: During my management, improvements for the manufacturing process were presented, achieving diminishing of the tobacco waste, reaching a reduction of 10%.(Target: 7,50%; Goal Reached:6,87%)
