Pharmacy Technician


Supporting the pharmaceutical staff in receiving, preparing, and dispensing prescription drugs.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Reading and understanding written prescriptions, inputting them into the computer system, working with insurance companies and customers in order to get the customer what they need.
  • Calculating quantities to fill prescription drugs correctly, and correcting any problems that occur during the filling process such as ordering and organizing products.
  • Customer services such as helping the customer get what they need, purchase items, and answer any questions they may have.
  • Count and return inventory.
  • My personal responsibility was also to organize, create, and calculate the schedule for the other pharmacy staff members and myself.

Spent 2 weeks a summer with 5 grade students teaching them about the dangers of drugs and how to have fun without using drugs. I was lead counselor of my groups and cabin mother for 2 summers. I was entrusted with 9-15 kids a session and it was my job to look after them and lead the other counselors in my group.
