Hispanics In Philanthropy

My project “Nuestros corazones, Nuestras vidas” is a pilot program created to address health and wellness issues in the Latino elder community: civic engagement, healthcare, and transportation. The California Latino Age Wave Initiative is a project of Hispanics in Philanthropy, funded by The Atlantic Philanthropies, The California Wellness Foundation and The Scan Foundation to invest in and advocate for innovative services and programs that support the well-being of California’s Latino older adult population.

Travel Trainer

City of La Mesa

I  developed a curriculum specifically for adults 60+ and taught small groups how to use San Diego public transportation. The class was conducted out in the field with  adults who were decreasing their driving. Each class focused on a different aspect of public transportation and includes a pre-planned excursions using fixed route buses and trolleys. The class is part of the Rides4Neighbor program funded by SANDAG.
