    About Judge Shanon Riley

    Judge Shanon Riley is a longtime member of the New Mexico state bar and guides court proceedings of the Workers’ Compensation Administration in Albuquerque. She presides over the full range of petitions, applications, and motions presented by involved parties. Judge Shanon Riley acts as a referee between litigating parties and encourages settlements through conferences and mediations.

    She earned her BA in criminal justice at the University of New Mexico and completed her JD at the institution’s law school. She clerked with Second Judicial District Attorney’s Clinic and handled misdemeanor criminal cases with the Metropolitan Court.

    Beginning her law career with the New Mexico Second Judicial District Attorney’s Office, Judge Riley undertook prosecution in felony and misdemeanor matters. She also approved search warrants and coordinated efforts with a range of community groups and state agencies. She joined the New Mexico Department of Military Affairs in Santa Fe as general counsel in 2007 and provided analysis and recommendations on diverse issues, from employment to environmental law.
