2002 - 2005


Park Place Retirement Communities (Adult Care Management Inc)
  • Assumed full responsibility for the growth and positioning of the company for a successful sale in September of 2005. Services included ALF, IL, Alzheimers, Home Health and Hospice.
  • Achieved best financial performance in 30 year company history
  • Facilities performing at an average census of 98% consistently (were at 67% when I accepted responsibility for turn-around)
  • Developed new business strategy/diversified product line
  • Introduced and established innovative screening, hiring and retention of human resources.
  • Awarded Peak Performance Award by the Tampa Bay Association of Business Executives for outstanding sales, business growth and profitability.
2000 - 2002

Director of Operations

Park Place Retirement Communities (Adult Care Management, Inc.)
  • Overall performance responsibility for multi-facility (Assisted Living Facilities) company with locations in Texas and Florida.
  • Assessed and strategized implementation of diverse opportunities for the company to engage in new business growth by developing new product lines and forming healthcare alliances.
  • Established and motivated a dynamic regional management team with outstanding business results by increasing census and reducing staff turnover.
  • Improved net revenues to a profit position following a five year loss.
  • Promoted to President as a result of outstanding accomplishment in short period of time.
1993 - 1999

Corporate VP of Operations

Vendell Health Care Corporation
  • Progressed from Hospital consultant to Hosptial Chief Executive Officer to Corporate Vice President of Operations.
  • Provided on a consultation basis operational and financial analysis  plan for an individual hospital that suffered from a history of progressive and significant financial loss combined with regulatory issues.
  • Implemented improvement strategies as Chief Executive Officer by developing a dynamic leadership team resulting in the following developments/improvements;
    • Increased revenues from a monthly deficit of 130K to a 2.2 million net profit at the end of the first 12 months.
    • Decreased operational costs by 7%
    • AR days decreased from 67 to 23
    • Developed successful partnerships with licensed independent practitioners
    • Overcame significant regulatory and funding issues
    • Achieved JCAHO accreditation with Commendation (highest standing) following earlier risk of decertification.
  • Developed first long-term treatment program for gang affiliated adolescents resulting in national referral base from state MEDICAID agencies in Chicago, Los Angeles, Reno, Las Vegas, Guam, Seattle as well as CHAMPUS referrals throughout the U.S.A. and abroad.
  • Following success of hospital turnaround, was promoted to Corporate VP responsible for Corporate Business development/national sales team, Service Expansion and national supervision of New Service Development for multiple psychiatric hospitals and clinics.
  • Developed specialized niche services to include first long term residential facilities for gang members resulting in national and international contracts and improved profitability.
  • Supervised Regional Operations Directors and Regional Sales Directors of multiple free standing hospitals throughout the U.S.
1986 - 1993


USA Rapha, Inc.

          Negotiated and implemented new business development of start-up Christian psychiatric company.

  • Assisted with negotiations of 20 of the 23 hospital  contracts (3 were in existence when I started with the company)
  • Successfully negotiated 10 of the 12 out patient clinics
  • Grew from 1 to 30 million annual net revenue
  • Developed, supervised and motivated start-up teams and regional management teams for new facilities
  • Developed national marketing and sales team and provided supervision of such
  • Negotiated and managed high profile sponsorships with
    • Pat Boone Recovery Center in Van Nuys, CA
    • Dan Reeves Recovery Center in Colorado Springs
    • Tom Landry Recovery Center in Plano, TX
  • Developed professional/national referral strategy with other high profile national figures/celebrities/pastors/para-church ministries.

Assisted in the establishment of effective employee incentive and accountability systems.

  • Operational and sales management of a 192 bed Psychiatric Regional Medical Center
