I have been working as an employee of the Microtel for most of my adult life. I have learned a lot about this business from the people that I have worked with. In my time at the Microtel I have been a stand in for the FOM while she was on vacation and maternity leave. Throughout my years at the Microtel I have made schedules, booked bus tours, booked wedding blocks, handled the trust voyager which is interfacing the online reservations with the hotel reservations. I have dealt with credit card charge backs and guest complaints. I have helped out with P & L analysis and basically handled the day to day operations of the front desk.

I worked at the Best Western for about a yr and a half. It was my first hotel job and this was the job that made me realize my interest for working at hotels. I learned a lot of vital information at this hotel. How to deal with guests on a professional manner and improved my phone skills tremendously. I left on good terms with my manager for a salary increase at the Microtel.

This was my first job. Although it was a pizzeria I still did deal with guests quite often. I worked the counter and had to always be friendly and pleasant. This job is where my guest services started and I always had positive feedback. I had many responsabilities ex. take phone orders, make slices, count the drawer, collect the money, and set up delivery bags for drivers.
