Ontario Secondary School Diploma

Kawenni:io/Gaweni:yo School Board

I have been pursuing my career in teaching since 2003. In 2011 I graduated from  the aboriginal teacher certification program at Nipissing University. I am excited about implementing all  the teaching strategies I have learned. My philosophy for teaching is believing that every child can achieve success.

I was recently employed with Kawenni:io/Gaweni:yo School Board as a grade five and six Mohawk immersion teacher.  I also have teaching experience in all subjects areas in the primary and junior levels, as well as activities outside the classroom.

Reviving the Mohawk language in the classroom through children is a passion of mine.I enjoy incorporating culture into lessons based on the Ontario Curriculum. I feel I possess a strong knowledge of aboriginal culture and background to the classroom and wish to continue to pursue and encourage language and culture in my teaching career.

Pursuing a career in teaching that promotes aboriginal language and culture in a classroom setting.
