Executive Vice President - Americas2005 – 2007 (Charlotte NC, USA)
Responsible for Essel Propack’s business in North and South America, with manufacturing facilities in Mexico, Venezuela, Colombia and The United States. Had under my responsibility, business growth in the Americas as well as sales & marketing, operations and finance of the countries where EP had manufacturing & commercial presence. Had 6 direct reports, four general managers, a regional controller and a regional manufacturing director.Had full P&L ownership and reported directly to the CEO of the company in India.
·Positioned Essel Propack America as the leading tube supplier to multinational companiesin the Americas with yearly sales of USD 50 million
·Landed long term supply contracts with P&G (USD 140 million) and Glaxo SK (USD 50 million)
·Planned and executed the start up of Essel’s business in the US (Greenfield start up) USD 30 million investment and 250 employees.
·Successfully negotiated and implemented economic package incentives with the state of Virginia. USD 2 million in cash, tax breaks and training programs for our employees.
·Expanded the business portfolio in the US with Plastic tubes, leading an additional Greenfield site with investments over USD 15 million.
Regional Director Latin America 2002 – 2005 (San Jose – Costa Rica)
Responsible for the Latin American business with manufacturing sites in Venezuela, Colombia and Mexico. The main objective of this role was to consolidate the operations (restructure the business / optimize supply chain) and evaluate regional expansion opportunities. Full P&L reasonability and reported directly to the CEO in India.
·Secured supply contracts to Colgate Palmolive in Venezuela and Colombia (USD 7 million)
·Secured supply contract with P&G in Mexico (USD 4 million)
·Restructured the management teams of the company in Mexico and introduced good administrative and accountability practices
Director of Business Development 2001 - 2002 (Bangkok – Thailand)
Responsible for mapping the strategy of the company and crafting the corporate 5 year business plan. In charge of the 3 key accounts of the company (Colgate, Unilever and Procter) – USD 150 million in sales . Supporting role to the GM’s of our units (10 different countries) in the implementation of the individual growth strategies and tactics. Full P&L responsibility and reporting to the CEO.
