Focus over my last couple of jobs has been on the improvement of Service Delivery capability in Dow’s IT organization. This has varied from dealing with IT Service issues from a ‘recipient perspective’, being stationed in Joint Ventures and managing ‘as a Customer’ the Dow Service delivery performance, to managing major IT Service contracts operationally, to transforming the organization to become a successful Service provider, covering pure IT Services scope on the one hand, to a broad range of Leveraged Business Services, including e.g. Supply Chain, Finance, Purchasing, etc. services, on the other. My current role goes back to also earlier experiences in large Project Management leadership positions, driving the development and delivery of the Next Enterprise Applications capabilities (the next Generation SAP system) for the Dow Chemical Company. I believe in the capability of an organization and the responsibility to engage the people in your organization to “bring the best out”. This through personal contact and continuous readiness to explain Strategy driven changes in actionable terms, even when having to e.g. deal with hard issues like labor arbitrage driven relocation of work. Accomplishments during my career that I would like to high-light are: • Recent job in structuring, establishing and kicking off the large, multi-year program for the development of Dow’s Next Generation SAP/Enterprise Systems; • Effective operations of Dow’s global IT Infrastructure, covering all ITIL processes, global data centers, global network services, Service contract management, etc.; • Driving organizational change & readiness to become a better Service provider to Dow’s Joint Ventures, for both IT Services & other Leveraged Services; • Establishment of effective (IT) Service delivery capabilities and long term IT Strategy in the MEGlobal and Equipolymers Joint Ventures; • Cross-industry efforts to develop & promote V1.0 of XML Chem eStandards.
