Skills

Skills

Blogger

During the course of one of my college classes, I was the Blogmaster for a blog that I created for my classmates to activley engage in discussion regarding leadership and the qualities of good leaders.  Being the  Blogmaster required that I set-up, maintain, and comment on various threads.

Wimba Virutal Meeting/Presentation

I have used this virtual presentation software to deliver presentations in my college courses.  By uploading powerpoint files and having a live audio feed to your audience, Wimba has allowed me the ability to deliver presentations without the restriction of having to be on location.

Omnigraffle

Omnigraffle is a tool similar to Microsoft Visio, but used in the Apple OSX platform.  A very user-friendly and powerful tool, I have gained much experience using Omnigraffle in conjunction with Microsoft Visio.

Microsoft Visio

Microsoft Visio is a powerful software tool that has aided me in the designing of information systems and databases.  I have a good understanding of how to create data models and entitty relationship diagrams using this software.

iMovie

I recently picked up the hobby of videography with a high-definition-video camera.  As a result I chose the program, iMovie, to extract and edit my video clips.  Although still a new and developing skill, iMovie provides a medium where I can create movies in a high definition format playable on Blu Ray players.

Spanish

Growing up with a Spanish-speaking mother and living in Southern California, I have always found myself surrounded by the Spanish-speaking nationals.  I decided to increase my understanding of the prominent language by committing time to taking two-college level course in Spanish.  I have broadened my vocabulary and understanding of the language by being in the service industry and constantly communicating with the Hispanic community.

Visual Basic

Taking a course in Visual Basic introduced to the fundamentals of programming in VB.  This course sparked a great interest in programming and I look forward to devleoping my knowledge of not only VB, but other languages as well.

Microsoft Excel

Many of my college level courses have required the use of excel spreadsheets.  I carried this knowledge over into my work and generated financial spreadsheets and graphs through the use of excel in order to evaluate financial history and future goals for the company.

Microsoft Word and Powerpoint

I have a deep understanding of creating word and powerpoint documents through Office.  Nearly every course has required the use of both programs. I have the potential to create powerful presentations and documents.

Objective

Seeking a part-time internship/job opportunity that will utilize my problem solving, communication, business, and IT skills.

Interests

Interests include the following: mountain biking, surfing, football, basketball, baseball, playing guitar, weight lifting, building things, lerning how stuff works, and reading.
