Performed additional freelance work as theatre stage manager, film production assistant, and personal/administration assistant in multiple fields during this period. Professionals worked for as personal assistant included, but were not limited to, landscape architects, sculptor, interior designer, antique dealer, and writers.

Stage Manager/Assistant to the Director

Time & Space Limited Theater
  • Supervised rehearsals and the construction of sets in performance space.
  • Stage managed all performances.
  • Teamed with crew in multi-media set-up and operation for performances.
  • Implemented vision of the director by researching historical background for story and characters; and locating and purchasing costume and props as required.

Assistant to the Producer

  • Cataloged historical documents and photographs for producer's film library.
  • Researched archives for informational material.
  • Supported the producer in post-production of a documentary in editing facilities.

  • Supervise staff including scheduling, communicating and interpreting policy, prioritizing workflow, and conducting performance reviews.
  • Organize and present programs - including class instruction - for the community; conduct outreach activities to community groups and organizations.
  • Create marketing materials for library branch programs.
  • Select branch materials for the literacy collection. Recommend materials as needed for other parts of the collection.
  • Analyze existing collection and deselect materials as required.
  • Manage budget for literacy collection, supplies, and merit-exempt staff.
  • Provide reference service to customers using catalog, databases, internet, or any other available means to ensure customer's information need is met.

  • Initiated proposal to add genre labels to Teen fiction that was implemented throughout all GCPL branch libraries.
  • Received C.A.R.E. (Committee for the Acknowledgement and Recognition of Employees) nomination for outstanding work performance.
  • Designed, created, and installed new shelving signs for branch to assist customers in locating material on the shelves.
  • Created pathfinders for several subjects to aid customers in finding related materials in the non-fiction collection.

Branch Responsibilities and Activities

  • Maintained publications library, database and archive of all technical publications.
  • Researched engineering change notices; marked-up relevant publications and communicated changes to associates as required.
  • Supervised the printing of all manuals: coordinated between the Sourcing department and print suppliers, requested quotes, prepared PDF files for transmittal, reviewed proofs and final deliveries.
  • Supervised translations of manuals in fifteen languages: prepared publications for translation, organized and archived completed translations.
  • Participated on project teams developing new product. Managed project within the department to assure all deliverables were met by product launch.
  • Developed and maintained Access database for departmental work hours and built reports as required by management.
  • Organized publication reworks and supervised the temporary staff during the rework.

Used daily at Gwinnett County Public Library to create and maintain customer accounts, search and request materials for customers.

Adobe Framemaker and Illustrator

Used Framemaker extensively in technical publications to create and revise technical manuals. Illustrator experience primarily in basic revisions for technical line art.

Adobe Acrobat

Used extensively in technical publications for printing technical manuals and distributing electronic publication collections to field representatives for company. Have continued to use both in student work and library professional documents.
