About Joshua Shuman

Based in Dayton, Ohio, Joshua “Josh” William Shuman worked for more than a decade building a career as a psychologist until 2014. Laying the foundation for his future endeavors, he obtained a bachelor of arts in psychology from Franklin College. During his undergraduate studies, Joshua “Josh” William Shuman led a research project that analyzed the relationship between light intensity and aggression. He presented his findings at the Mid-Atlantic Undergraduate Research Presentation Conference.

Subsequently, Joshua W. Shuman pursued his doctor of psychology in clinical psychology through the Georgia School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University. He completed his pre-doctoral internship through the Wright State University School of Professional Psychology, where he garnered experience in individual psychotherapy for both adults and children. In 2006, Joshua W. Shuman accepted a position as a staff clinician with the Miami County Mental Health Center. Over the course of two years, he maintained responsibilities as a psychologist and administered up to 25 hours of individual and group therapy every week.

Most recently, Dr. Shuman served as a staff psychologist at the Dayton Veterans Affairs Medical Center until 2014. In this role, he was responsible for all facets of psychological consultation, evaluation, and therapy in the primary care service division. During his tenure with the center, Dr. Shuman also volunteered as a practicum coordinator and regularly participated in the training program leadership team for psychology doctoral student trainees.
