Joshua William Hedge

Consultant - Deloitte Analytics

As a Chemical Engineering graduate from the University of Birmingham, with experience in both financial services consulting, and in audit at Deloitte, I have a wide array of industry and professional exposure. Reading Chemical Engineering, alongside a previous internship in mining and minerals consulting has enabled me to develop a broad understanding of industries such as pharmaceuticals, oil and gas, consumer goods and energy and resources; driving factors associated with growth, markets, product development and cost optimisation in these industries all play a role in industry trends driving merger and acquisition activity – my degree and general interests have fostered my understanding of these.

Hitherto, my first year of my Deloitte graduate scheme has had me focus on the areas of corporate data strategy, the insight driven organisation, and regulatory data analytics, I believe my background in these areas provides strong grounding which distinguishes me from my peers. I have had significant client interaction at a global pharmaceutical company and at a tier 1 investment bank, alongside C-suite exposure. Coming from a consulting background, and having extensive training thus far, I am well set to excel going forward.
