Josh Ruffell

An accomplished animal trainer, zookeeper, zoo curator, wildlife consultant, and reptile specialist, Josh Ruffell has worked for a number of major animal facilities and companies around the world. He most recently served a two and a half year tenure as Assistant Curator at Australia Zoo in Beerwah, Australia. In this position Josh Ruffell shared management oversight of general zoo operations as well as being directly in charge of six different departments calling for expertise in areas that ranged from wildlife shows and animal care to grounds-keeping and audiovisual services.

Prior to becoming Assistant Curator in 2013, Josh Ruffell spent the previous 5 years as Curator of Birds and Reptiles for Australia Zoo. He has also completed extensive work in the entertainment industry, training animals for several international production companies and consulting on the CBS television series Survivor. Mr. Ruffell also served as an animal keeper and general manager for New England Reptile Distributors, where he oversaw all facets of daily operations for a 10,000-square-foot breeding facility in Plaistow, New Hampshire.
