Based in San Francisco, Josette Ferrer currently leads Clairent Advisors LLC, a valuation firm which she founded in 2010. As Managing Director, she oversees a team that determines the values of tangible and intangible assets for clients in an array of industries, including technology, telecommunications, consumer products, and manufacturing. Furthermore, Josette Ferrer offers extensive experience working with early-stage ventures and has advised on valuation matters in bankruptcies, mergers, and acquisitions. As a valuation consultant, she has assisted clients with valuing assets and businesses for tax planning and compliance, including gift and estate tax reporting. For clients preparing documentation for financial reporting, Josette Ferrer has performed valuation analyses related to stock options, as well as assets and goodwill that have declined in value. She also works with clients who need to report replacement values to insurance companies and firms trying to assess the values of portfolios with illiquid investments. Josette Ferrer started out at Ernst & Young LLP as an Associate, and has served as the U.S. Practice Leader for the Valuation Services group at Marsh. She led the San Francisco valuation team at Kroll, and spent two years as a Managing Director at WTAS, Inc., an HSBC subsidiary. She also contributed to Huron Consulting as a Director and worked in Arthur Andersen’s valuation group for seven years, where she began as a Senior Associate and was promoted to a Senior Manager position. Josette Ferrer attended the University of California, Berkeley, where she studied Business Administration at the Walter A. Haas School of Business and earned a Bachelor of Science. In her free time, she volunteers for Family Connections, a San Mateo County organization that provides opportunities for parents with limited incomes and their children to learn together.
