As a regional leader in the financial services industry, Josette Ferrer regularly speaks at engagements for leading organizations and institutions. Ferrer recently participated in a panel discussion, “The Impact of Volatility on M&A and Valuation,” hosted by the San Francisco chapter of Financial Executives International (FEI), as well as a presentation discussing entrepreneurship that was organized by the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) and the American Society of Women Accountants. In December 2011, she will be appearing during an IMA event to present on goodwill impairment testing issues.Josette Ferrer specializes in financial valuations and has served as a Managing Director of Clairent Advisors since 2010, when she founded the consulting firm. Clairent offers a comprehensive suite of valuation services for financial reporting, tax planning, mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, and litigation support. Ferrer possesses nearly two decades of experience appraising a vast array of assets and businesses, including intellectual property, intangible assets, and closely held business interests.Prior to starting Clairent, Josette Ferrer served as the U.S. Practice Leader of Valuation Services at Marsh Inc., a leading international insurance broker, and also served as a Managing Director with its sister company Kroll Inc. Ferrer also spent time as a Managing Director with Wealth & Tax Advisory Services (now WTAS LLC), a former subsidiary of HSBC USA, where she established the firm’s San Francisco valuation team and directed all of the operational, technical, and marketing functions for the group. She began her valuation career at Ernst & Young LLP and Arthur Andersen LLP, where she was an Associate and Senior Manager, respectively. Josette Ferrer received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley.
