Originally from Chicago, Illinois, Joseph Reiter showed his commitment to his country by enlisting in the United States Army. Deemed too young on his first attempt, he was successful on his second try and served with the 7th Infantry Division in Korea. After his tour of duty, Reiter enrolled at the University of Illinois and subsequently joined Stetson University College of Law, where he obtained his Juris Doctor as a Dana Scholar. With a Florida law license, Joseph Reiter accepted employment at a West Palm Beach law firm. There, he met Lake Lytal, Jr., with whom he worked for over 15 years before co-founding what is now called the Law Office of Lytal, Reiter, Smith, Ivey & Fronrath, also located in West Palm Beach. A Partner with the personal injury firm, Joseph Reiter focuses on cases involving medical malpractice, product liability, and automobile accidents as a board certified civil trial lawyer with The Florida Bar's Board of Legal Specialization and Education. Since entering the legal profession, Reiter has obtained numerous honors and accolades. He holds an AV Preeminent 5.0 out of 5 rating with Martindale-Hubbell and was published in the Best Lawyers in America. Placing in the top five percent of Florida attorneys as a Super Lawyer for the years 2006 through 2011, Joseph Reiter earned an award from the Florida Justice Association (formerly known as the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers), and South Florida Legal Guide named him as the Top Lawyer in South Florida for Civil Litigation from 2003 until 2006. Furthermore, Reiter received induction into Stetson University College of Law’s Hall of Fame, as well as the school’s Outstanding Alumnus Award.
