Hi everyone, I am Josephine and I'm currently pursuing my Bachelors with Wheelock College, SIngapore. I enjoy working with children because through interacting with them, I actully learn a lot which books cannot teach me. Not only has my knowlege of children deepen, my patience for working with them has also been strengthen. In the future, I hope to be a child physchologist or child therapist because I want to help children who are encountering stress or difficult times. To me, impacting one's life positively is one of the best gifts that I can ever offer.

To create meaningful impact in children's lives, by providing them with constructive and enjoyable activities to interact with.

My Philosophy

Learning is an exciting and enjoyable process of every child’s life. It is through the process that each child gains a whole new understanding of the world that awaits them. The purpose of educating a child is to instill in them the required understanding and knowledge, so that they will be ready in life- for the times to come. Emphasizing on Piaget’s stand on play (Jean Piaget Society, 2007), I strongly believe that children start learning through play, constructing their own knowledge of what they are experimenting with. It is my desire to provide the opportunities for them to nurture and enhance their learning in the physical, intellectual, emotional, social and creative aspect through these two objectives:

1.To create a holistic environment, by ensuring the suitability of the environment and to provide a wide range of materials and manipulatives for children to explore with.

2.For the teacher to play the role as a facilitator and to guide children as they engage in the learning process.

As every child is special and unique in their own ways, I would look into the area of modifying the environment and play sessions for children with different learning styles and disabilities, such that every child will benefit. By providing an environment that is spacious with the different learning corners containing materials and manipulatives of children’s interest, it would be beneficial and valuable for them as they interact and explore with it in their free time.
