  • Shadowed Melissa Donaldson, Trussville City School Nutritionist, and discussed various meal guidelines for the next school year
  • Viewed multiple meal schedules and the nutritional value associated with each meal

  • Shadowed various UAB Wellness Programs/Coordinators
  • Observed the EatRight program, a comprehensive health screening and counseling initiative
  • Participated in clinical OPTIFAST assessments, a complete meal replacement system
  • Worked with Piggly Wiggly supervisors to provide information about healthy food options
  • Worked at a Food Stand in the UAB hospital and assisted in packaging and selling healthy food items for employees, students and patients
