Major includes education and training in Food Systems Management, Food safety, and Food science. Also includes training in diagnosing, treating, and maintaining nutritional needs throughout the life cycle.
Greet suppliers and check product invoice. Stock incoming products according to food safety guidelines. Oversee entry level employee's food preparation in compliance with food safety and sanitary guidelines. Also prepare deli ingredients and items to be sold to the customer. Deal directly with the customer in deli orders and transactions. Manage large deli orders such as party platters, cake orders, and artisan bread items. Also practice FIFO (First in First Out) on a daily basis through out all products in the deli. Lastly conduct inventory analysis within the deli and bakery.
My interests include food safety systems and the science behind food borne illnesses and prevention. I also have a background and interest in nutrition, related to sports nutrition, weight maintenance, and disease prevention.
To pursue a career that will allow me to utilize my skills in the food industry and or nutrition. I am looking for a company that challenges my abilities and has room for advancement.
Make A Wish Foundation- Helped raise 1,000 dollars for a child diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis by selling raffle vouchers to fund the cause. (2004)
Member of the International Fraternity of Phi Gamma Delta. President of my pledge class. Responsible for 7 pledges, ran meetings, planned and implemented fraternity activities and collaboration with other organizations and local businesses. While in Fraternity participated in a number of philanthropies including Change Bandits which benefits Valley Children's Hospital. (2005-present)
Student Dietetic Association at California State University, Fresno. Active member for two years, Officer/Social Chair for two years. Responsible for attending all meetings, preparing healthy food items and options for meetings and all activities of the club. Attend activities and help implement club booths at health fairs, helped establish SDA Farmer's Market, which sells healthy snacks and provides nutritional information to students, faculty, and staff on campus.
