About Jonathan Daniel MD

Serving patients throughout the Portland, Oregon, area, Jonathan Daniel, MD, offers advanced thoracic surgical care. He emphasizes minimally invasive robotic and thoracoscopic approaches in treating lung and mediastinal tumors. Jonathan Daniel, MD, also has extensive experience caring for patients with the rare tumor mesothelioma, which requires a specialized surgical procedure.

Certified by the American Board of thoracic surgery, Dr. Daniel served as assistant professor and lung transplant surgeon with the Thoracic Surgery Section at the University of Arizona from 2009 to 2012. During this time, he undertook training in leading-edge da Vinci robotic surgery techniques.

Dr. Daniel is well published in his field and has been an editorial reviewer with the Journal of Surgical Oncology since 2010. He has contributed chapters to a number of medical textbooks, including Master Techniques in Surgery: Esophageal Surgery (2014). Jonathan Daniel, MD, is currently planning to set up a website dedicated to understanding mesothelioma and its treatment. He is active with the Society of Thoracic Surgeons and maintains certification with the American Board of Thoracic Surgery.
