Create a variety of ads for award-winning publisher of 9 weekly free community newspapers. Utilize a variety of styles to suit diverse range of clients;  from professional services to food services, retail, automotive and more. Provide support and customer service for Account Reps.

Plain Dealer Publishing

Collaborated with a team of designers and account representatives to create advertising for the daily newspaper, its suburban weeklies and the cleveland.com web site.

•  Designed a holiday campaign for the Salvation Army which sold a package advertising deal, and saved client the expense of using their advertising agency.  The campaign covered print, online and billboard.  

•  Designed logo and invitation for “DigiFest,”  a company-sponsored sales and marketing seminar; event was expanded to two days due to response.

•  Assisted in developing high-impact presentations successful in landing advertising orders from large accounts such as Dillards, Macy’s, University Hospitals and the Horseshoe Casino.

Create print communications for wide range of business-to-business, retail, political,  real estate, professional and educational clients, specializing in direct mail, advertising design, and publications.

•  Redesigned Berea Animal Rescue Friends annual fundraising calendar to include advertising opportunities for local business and additional spaces for pet photos, increasing the bottom line from $300 to nearly $2,000.

•  Won 2004 & 2005 National Newsletter Award from American Business Women’s Association for design, writing and editing (judged by independent journalism professionals).

2005 - 2006

Lead designer for six monthly suburban city magazines. Ensured repeat business and increased the scope of orders by personally handling house accounts, and interacting directly with advertisers.

•  Redesigned realtors’  layouts to maximize the number of listings in their ads, which enabled them to justify purchasing a larger advertising space.

•  Saved an account from being cancelled by taking over the project; meeting directly with the client, listening to concerns about the layout and scope of their project and offering solutions.

•  Transformed difficult to navigate company web site to clean, logical design with interactive PDFs of publications, adding value for advertisers with click through to web site feature.

•  Helped develop profitable sideline business designing brochures and other marketing collateral. Increased visibility in the community by designing t-shirts and flyers for city festivals and bicycling events.
