Volunteer Work

During High School, I participated in our school's charity week as a member of student council.  In my first year on council, our student body chose to raise money for Guardian Ad Litem, a charity organization that helps abused and neglected children during court proceedings.  In one week, our student body was able to raise over $110,000 for this notable charity.

In my second year on council, the Wade Hampton student body chose to raise money for the Meyer Center, located only 2 miles from our campus.  The Meyer Center's vision is to enrich the lives of children with disabilities so that they can reach their full potential.  In that year, our student body again raised over $110,000 in one week.  This was my last year in student council because I was graduating, but in that year, I held the record for raising the most amount of money by one person for the Senior class.
