John W. Archibald has held his position as Project Executive with Simi Valley-headquartered Cobalt Construction Company since July 2011, providing project management services that encompass construction budgets and contracts as well as field and office personnel hiring. Prior to this, as Senior Vice President of Construction Operations with Casden Properties LLC from 1998 to 2011, Mr. Archibald managed a wide range of organizational aspects of the firm. In total, he delivered more than 3,000 new apartment units and oversaw the rolling rehabilitation of 1,200 units. Mr. Archibald’s responsibilities with Beverly Hills-based firm included architectural, engineering, and construction planning, as well as risk management, contract administration, and close-out documentation.
In addition to his work with Casden Properties, John W. Archibald established ArchWay Builders, Inc., in 1992, and has served as President ever since. ArchWay Builders undertakes general contracting and construction projects that include custom residences, remodels, and tenant improvements. Mr. Archibald’s firm also engages in work on shopping centers and commercial buildings. From 1990 to 1994, Mr. Archibald held a position as Director of Construction Operations with Larwin Company, overseeing all personnel management issues, as well as off-site and on-site construction administration.
John W. Archibald’s professional affiliation with Casden Properties extends to 1978, when he began a 12-year period of employment with the real estate developer. Mr. Archibald spent six years with on-site responsibilities as Assistant Superintendent before gaining promotion to an office position as Senior Purchasing Agent. While in the field, he undertook supervision of a wide range of home, apartment unit, and rolling rehabilitation projects throughout Southern California. Mr. Archibald worked on various construction stages of 5,000 apartment units, 1,000 homes, and 800 rolling rehabilitation units.
John W. Archibald is a graduate of Hiram Scott College in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, with a B.A. in History and Political Science and Certification in Secondary Education. He supports the efforts of the Special Olympics and has undertaken extensive volunteer work with children who have special needs. In his free time, Mr. Archibald enjoys cycling, competing in triathlons, scuba diving, and playing golf. A California- and Florida-licensed general building contractor, Mr. Archibald maintains professional affiliation with the Building Industry Association.
