  • Member of senior management team that grew company from start-up to a nearly $7-million per year business in four years.
  • Managing supervisor to Television and Film division creative, development and production personnel with five direct reports, garnering a reputation for effective communication and respected management style.
  • Created strategic business plan / model and go-to-market strategy with the objective of creating at least three hours of original content over four years, exceeding company owners’ goals and expectations.
  • Executive produced (promoted from producer) and directed a monthly half hour, hosted studio television magazine format ‘infotainment’ show, titled, “Customer News” for DirecTV.
    • Responsible for guiding all aspects of the show’s content including:
      • Researching monthly topics, script development and approval
      • Storyboarding and staging the show segments
      • Working with hosts to emphasize key client messaging
      • Working directly with multiple client contacts, managing the sometimes-conflicting input and direction
    • Supervised creation and implementation of motion graphic marketing and branding elements used in show packaging.
    • Managed $1 million annual show budget consistently delivering show on time and on or under budget.
    • Worked directly with and managed over 20 creative and production staff and free-lancers, creating an ongoing profitable operation.
  • Produced the following full-length motion pictures: “Dream with the Fishes” (distributed by Sony Pictures Classics) and “Cherish” (distributed by Fine Line Features), and Executive Produced “One” (distributed by The Shooting Gallery) all of which were licensed and distributed globally.
    • “Dream with the Fishes” and “Cherish” both premiered and were sold at the Sundance Film Festival, ultimately delivering to investors a 125% ROI.
      • Negotiated and managed legal agreements with key talent, key production personnel and investors.
      • Supervised budgets over $1 million and managed over 50 key creative and production personnel during development, production, post-production, marketing and distribution.
      • Provided creative and strategic guidance for integrated marketing campaigns on both films at the Sundance Film Festival and for subsequent worldwide distribution deals.
      • Worked with business affairs to negotiate and manage global distribution license agreements for both titles.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining annual departmental budget of over $500K, with a consistent track record of under spending.

Hired for long-term contract to oversee creative and production services of complex special projects for this integrated creative marketing agency specializing in media, entertainment, and technology. Clients included Discovery Networks, PBS, Food Network, Charter Communications, American Idol and others.

  • ‘Voom HD Networks’ - Responsible for managing the multi-hosted, studio production of on-air marketing and branding launch campaign of the first all-HD cable network.
    • Worked with creative director to guide all creative aspects of the project including conceptualizing and managing motion graphic elements, design and implementation of studio set, original music composition, post-production.
    • Supervised $350K budget, managed over 25 creative and production personnel, maintained three month production schedule, delivered final product on time and under budget.
    • Campaign success created proof-of-concept needed for company to secure multiple future jobs with client.
  • Sole senior producer consistently selected to spearhead larger, complex script-based, integrated live action projects because of proven ability to work professionally with high level clients, writers, creative and production teams.
  • Managed multiple projects simultaneously, allowing additional $1 million in revenues for company over a 13 month period, while maintaining overall job profit margins averaging over 35%.

Raised $8 million in private equity and distribution financing, developed screenplay, assembled key talent, and oversaw all aspects of pre-production, production, post-production, marketing and advertising initiatives, sales and distribution of the motion picture, “The Darwin Awards.”

  • Responsible for all financial operations of the company including budgeting, cash flow management, cost control, quarterly reporting to fellow board managers, annual reporting to investors.
  • Managed all facets of $8 million budget and supervised 100+ persons through entire production process. Project completed on time and on budget.
  • Developed and implemented successful communication initiatives with key company personnel allowing complicated, fast-paced daily operations to function smoothly and efficiently.
  • Wrote and developed business and marketing plan for potential investors which ultimately led to capital investments totaling over $8 million. 
  • Revised key legal agreements with investor group to successfully retain full long-term copyright ownership and increased future revenue stream for company managers.
  • Intervened in stalled negotiations with trademark holder of the name ‘Darwin Awards’ and successfully closed the cornerstone deal for the company, resulting in the ability to use the essential ‘Darwin Awards’ name for all creative, marketing, advertising and sales initiatives.
  • Negotiated and managed legal contracts for key talent, key creative crew and production department heads.
  • Assisted in negotiations for, and managed, successful worldwide global distribution license agreements with Icon Entertainment, Bauer Martinez Studios, Fox Home Video, Netflix and Showtime Networks among others.   
  • Responsible for working with entertainment marketing personnel and film distributors to initiate and implement strategic targeted marketing campaigns for the motion picture, resulting in actual sales exceeding projected sales by over 18%.

Contracted to supervise all aspects of character based non-fiction high profile videos for presentation during the annual Cisco Systems General Sales Meeting conference, including story development, production, editorial and delivery to client. Project based in San Francisco with location shooting in Miami and Rome.

  • Worked directly with writers and director to finalize shooting script, including incorporating complex technical and sales information, and implemented strategy to most effectively capture and communicate key Cisco messaging.
  • Key participant of weekly conference calls with production company executives as well as Cisco Systems personnel.
  • Oversaw creation and management of $200K+ production budget resulting in over a 10% cost savings to production company.
  • Responsible for maintaining the ongoing and long-term scheduling for production team, allowing the core group to work efficiently without overextended work days.
