John McNiff operates as an experienced business leader and investment management expert based in the greater Philadelphia area. As an investment manager, Mr. McNiff co-founded and serves as Partner of Mera Capital Management, L.P., in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania; further, he founded and chairs Discovery Capital Management, LLC, in New York City. As the majority shareholder of Chartwell Investment Partners, which he co-founded, Mr. McNiff contributes to the management of more than $5 billion in client assets. Engaged in a variety of business endeavors, John P. McNiff sits on the board of directors for companies including Cooke & Bieler, Alliance Healthcare, Lincoln Mortgage Company, Colonial Penn Insurance Company, and Steel Partners Holdings L.P. (NYSE). Beyond his current work in business and investment management, John McNiff actively contributes to a number of philanthropic endeavors. Since 2008, he has also served as Head of the Board of Trustees at Springside Chestnut Hill Academy, a local educational institution. Mr. McNiff has donated more than $1 million to each of these organizations as well as to Yale University. Mr. McNiff holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Yale University and completed his Juris Doctor at the New York University School of Law. Before pursuing his career interests in business, he served as an Attorney in New York City. In his personal life, the father of three enjoys travel and avidly golfs throughout the greater Philadelphia region. His oldest son currently participates with the golf team at Yale.
