Counterterrorism expert John Guandolo is one of the co-authors of Shariah: The Threat To America: An Exercise In Competitive Analysis (Report of Team B II), which was published in 2010. Currently serving as the Vice President of Strategic Planning and Execution at Strategic Engagement Group, Inc., John Guandolo also acts as a Strategic Threats Consultant for the Centennial Institute.
As Vice President at Strategic Engagement Group, John Guandolo prepares the leaders of local, state, and national organizations for terrorist threats. His clients include local and state governments, the intelligence community, the law enforcement community, and the National Guard. As part of his services, he provides facts and analysis on terrorist activities, as well as plans for successful counterterrorism operations. John Guandolo specializes in the threat facing the country from Islamic fundamentalists and allied terrorist organizations.
Previously a Subject Matter Expert for the Counterterrorism Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, John Guandolo developed the first course designed to train FBI agents in addressing the threats posed by the Muslim Brotherhood, the larger Islamic movement, and the rise of Shariah law. Prior to that position, he was a Special Agent for the same division. His accolades include the Defender of the Homeland Award and two Awards for Investigative Excellence. John Guandolo received his Bachelor's degree in Engineering from the United States Naval Academy in 1989, where he served as the senior class’ first-semester Company Commander.
John Guandolo holds memberships in a number of organizations, including the Knights of Columbus and the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, and his military affiliations include The American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. John Guandolo supports the American Red Cross and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. In his leisure time enjoys hiking, camping, and triathlons.
